Questions we get before the first project.
If yours is not here, call us. A person answers.
How do I get a quote?
Send us the file, the languages you need, and your deadline, through the quote form, by email, or on WhatsApp. A person replies within 12 hours with a price and a delivery date. There is no account to create and no card to enter.
What does a translation cost?
It depends on six things: word count, how rare the language pair is, how technical the subject is, how fast you need it, how complex the source format is, and whether it needs certification. We do not publish a rate card because a rate card would be wrong for most of the work we do. We do publish exactly what moves the price, on our process page, so that our quote is never a surprise.
How fast can you deliver?
It depends on the language, the subject, and the format, so we do not publish a table. When we quote, we give you a date, and that date is a commitment in writing. If your deadline is not achievable at the quality we work at, we say so at quote stage rather than at delivery.
What file formats do you accept?
Word, PDF, Excel, PowerPoint, plain text, RTF, and the usual localization formats including JSON, XLIFF, PO, RESX, and strings files. Scanned documents and photographs of documents are fine, and are common for certified work. You get the translation back in the format you sent it, with the layout intact.
Who actually does the translation?
A human linguist who works in your subject and translates into their native language. We match by field before we match by language, because a translator who is fluent but does not know your industry produces something readable and wrong.
Do you use machine translation?
Not as the translation. Our linguists use professional tools, including translation memory and terminology databases, and those tools are what keep your terminology consistent across years of work. But a person translates your document and a second person reviews it. If a project would genuinely be better served by machine translation with human post-editing, and some high-volume, low-stakes projects are, we will offer it, price it as what it is, and tell you exactly what you are getting.
What if the translation is not right?
Tell us within 30 days of delivery and we correct it at no charge. The correction is against the original brief: if your requirements change, that is new work and we will quote it.
Is every file reviewed?
Yes. One linguist translates, a second reviews. It is not an optional tier and it is not an upsell. It is the reason our delivered work comes back accepted.
Who sees my document?
The assigned translator, the reviewing linguist, and the project manager. Nobody else, inside the company or outside it. Every linguist in our network is under a signed non-disclosure agreement before they are given access to anything.
Will you sign our NDA?
Yes. Send it with your quote request and we will return it signed before you send the files. If you would rather use ours, ask and we will send it.
How long do you keep my files?
Thirty days after delivery, then we delete them. If you want them deleted sooner, say so and we will.
How do I pay?
PayPal, Wise, Payoneer, Skrill, and wire transfer. Terms are set per client: some pay in advance, some on delivery, some on 30, 45 or 60 days. Tell us what your procurement needs.
Do you invoice?
Yes. Terms are set per client and we will fit your procurement process. Tell us what it needs.
Do you work in my language?
Our directory lists every language we staff with a named professional linguist. If yours is not on it, ask anyway. Our network is larger than the list, and we would rather tell you honestly that we cannot do a pair than take the work and subcontract it to someone we have never met.
Which variant of my language will you use?
The one your reader uses. Latin American Spanish and European Spanish are not interchangeable. Neither are Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Brazilian and European Portuguese, or Modern Standard and Gulf Arabic. Tell us the audience and the jurisdiction and we will tell you which variant you need. Each language page explains what we default to and why.
You are a translation company. Why would I hire you to build software?
We are not only a translation company, and we never were: the name says assignments. Software has been a line of work here since 2007, it has its own team, and it is not a sideline funded by translation. If it helps, the system that runs our translation business is one we wrote ourselves, and you are welcome to ask us about it in detail.
Do you use AI to translate my documents?
No. Your document is translated by a native linguist and reviewed by a second one. We do build AI tools, including tools for translation workflows, and that is exactly why we are comfortable telling you what machine translation would and would not do to your specific document. AI that helps a linguist is not AI that replaces one.
Tell us what you need translated.
Send the file, the languages, and the deadline. A person replies within 12 hours with a price and a person to talk to.
