The name is not an accident.
Assign Project International was never set up as a translation company. Translation is what we do most, and it is what most clients come to us for, but the name says assignments for a reason. We take on the work a business cannot do in-house and does not want to hire a department for. Software is one of those, and it has been since the start.
What we build.
Enterprise and line of business applications. System integration, usually between tools that were never designed to speak to each other. Business process automation, which is most often the thing that actually pays for itself. Web applications and internal portals. Custom AI tools, built for a specific workflow rather than bought off a shelf and bent to fit.
AI tools.
We build AI tooling for translation workflows and for work that has nothing to do with language: document classification and extraction, routing, quality checks, retrieval over a body of documents nobody has time to read, and automation of the review steps that are currently somebody's whole Tuesday.
There is a distinction worth being clear about, because our own industry gets it wrong constantly. AI that helps a specialist is not AI that replaces one. We build the first kind. It is also why we can tell you precisely what machine translation will and will not do to your document, in your language pair, for your purpose. Most agencies either sell you machine translation quietly or refuse to discuss it. We do neither, because we build it.
The thing we built for ourselves.
Our own delivery system routes a document to the right linguist across four time zones, tracks it through two review stages, holds the translation memory, and knows which of hundreds of languages we can actually staff this week. We built it because nothing off the shelf did it. It is the reason our translation process is not an inbox and a spreadsheet, and it is a reasonable answer to the question of whether we can build yours.
How we work.
We scope before we quote, and we quote a number rather than a range. You get the source. You own it. If you want us gone after handover, you can be gone after handover, and the code will not have been written to prevent that. If your team wants to take it over, we will document it for them rather than for us.
You are a translation company. Why would I hire you to build software?
We are not only a translation company, and we never were: the name says assignments. Software has been a line of work here since 2007, it has its own team, and it is not a sideline funded by translation. If it helps, the system that runs our translation business is one we wrote ourselves, and you are welcome to ask us about it in detail.
Do you use AI to translate my documents?
No. Your document is translated by a native linguist and reviewed by a second one. We do build AI tools, including tools for translation workflows, and that is exactly why we are comfortable telling you what machine translation would and would not do to your specific document. AI that helps a linguist is not AI that replaces one.
