French Translation Services
Canadian French and European French, translated separately, because they are not the same job.
Français
Canadian French is the one that catches people out. Quebec has language legislation with requirements that European French translation does not satisfy, and the terminology genuinely differs: a contract that reads correctly in Paris can be non-compliant in Montreal. We translate for the jurisdiction, not for the language. Most of our French work is Canadian, because most of our clients are applying to Canada rather than to France.
Academic transcripts and degrees for Canadian study permits, birth and marriage certificates for family sponsorship, police clearance certificates, contracts, tender responses, regulatory submissions, and Quebec compliance material.
French runs 15 to 20 percent longer than English. Same layout warning as Spanish. On certified work: France operates a sworn translator system, where only a translator registered with a Court of Appeal and attending in person can certify a translation. That is not a service we offer. Canada does not work that way, and our certified French translation has been accepted by the Canadian embassy.
Our certified French translation, on our letterhead and under our stamp, has been accepted by the embassy of Canada. We do not serve the French sworn translation system.
